Tar(zan)!  (Intake date: June, 2009)

Handsome Tar is a fetching machine who is loving, attentive, athletic, and waiting to hangout in his new backyard, and cozy indoor bed  - at your house! Tar has so many great personality traits and he is becoming baffled as to why someone as handsome as he is still hasn't found the right family to love him forever.

Tar is young and energetic, neutered, and he loves to play with a bouncy rubber ball.  He is athletic and enthusiastic and is looking for an active family in which he can be the only male dog ~ he is a sweet boy but he chooses his friends in terms of four-legged companions.  His newest accomplishment that he would like you to know about is that he is learning agility!  He is intelligent and is really enjoying the workout and the challenge!

Tar is working on training, and would make a great companion for an experienced human who has some time and is so inclined to help him reach his full potential.

if this sounds like you and you have a securely fenced yard and lots of love to give, them come on down to meet this sweet your boy!

Shasta!  (Intake date: July, 2009)

Meet Shasta!  This sweet girl is a spayed female Retriever/Lab cross who is about as smart as they come and ready for a new life with a new loving family!! At this point she is still trying to figure out why someone as affectionate as she is has still not found her forever family.

Shasta walks well on leash, she is affectionate, and she is well mannered.  She likes to go for her daily outings weather it be a long walk to the creek or for an off leash romp in a securely fenced area with her new buddy Hershey featured above.

Shasta is looking for a family who is free from young children, who will give her lots of daily exercise, an indoor bed, has a safely fenced yard, and plenty of love to give to their four-legged family members.

If your family is ready for a new addition who already knows how to be a great companion, come by to meet our friend, Shasta.

Charlotte!  (Intake date: October, 2009)

Meet our newest little spunky muffin, Charlotte!  This energetic and playful young fire-cracker is in search of a new, active family to call her own....maybe even one with her very own playmate who can keep up to her and play and play and rough-house (respectfully of course), until she is all worn out and ready for a nap.

This young shepherd cross is soon to be spayed and Charlotte can fetch like nobody's business!  She absolutely loves to chase the ball and she has the stamina to do it for probably longer than your arm can so a tossing toy like a 'Chuck-it' would be a great investment for the new lucky family who makes Charlotte a member.

Charlotte would also like you to know that she is intelligent, responds well to positive reinforcement, and that she is working on her potty training.  With a steady and committed, loving family, this smart girl should be all house-trained and ready to rock in no time.

If your family has lots of energy and love to give, then come on by to meet our new little sweetie, Charlotte.

Baxter! (Intake date: November, 2009)

HANDSOME!!!  Meet our new handsome Pittbull boy who is searching for a new, experienced, and loving family to call his own...

This big gorgeous boy is neutered, has his shots up to date and is friendly with people.  Baxter is not, however, good with other dogs, and given the strength and nature of the reed, we are searching for an experienced family for Baxter to call his own.

He is intelligent, and energetic, and will require lots of daily exercise and an indoor bed given his short coat.  Under no circumstances, is Baxter to be chained or tied up...he requires a safely fenced yard, and a family who will make him an integral part of their daily routine.

If you have the experience, breed knowledge, and the maturity to provide Baxter with a stable home in which he can be successful and can reach his fullest potential, then come by to meet him.  Preference will be given to families with proven breed experience.

Please note: Our shelter reserves the right to refuse any adoption  application, as well as the right to keep the reasons for the refusal confidential within the organization.

China!  (Intake date: October, 2009)

Named after her delicate frame, this sweet young mixed breed girl is more than ready to find a new forever family who will provide her with lots of toys, treats, and most importantly - love and affection.

China is soon-to-be-spayed and she is ready to move in an become an important part of a human family.

Being that she has a short coat, she requires time spent inside when it's cold as well as an insulated doggie shelter for when it's even just chilly.

China is affectionate and intelligent and she would make a great addition to almost any family.  If your heart and home are ready to add a new member to the family, and you can offer her a quality lifestyle for the rest of her many years, drop on by to meet our newest little 'doll', China!

Snoopy! (Intake date: December, 2009)

Cute little Snoopy is a neutered male Beagle cross who is friendly, well-mannered, he is well-socialized too and loves to run with his new friend, Charlotte featured above.

Snoopy is intelligent, a little wiggly and he would love an active new family who is loving, and who has a nice securely fenced yard for him to play in with his new humans and one that will keep him safe from exploring the outside world alone.

Snoopy is short-haired and will, therefore, definitely require a new home that will provide him with an indoor bed and indoor time when it is chilly outside - because of his coat, but also  because he is very social and loves to be part of family activities.

If your family can provide a permanent loving and active home for the rest of Snoopy's many years, and you can't wait to let him follow his nose around your house, then come on by to meet him!

Cooper was out on adoption trial and has since been lost.  He was last seen in St. Albert.  If you have any information, please contact us ASAP! If cute, sweet, a little bit shy and cautious describe a canine friend that you could love then perhaps, this sweet boy could be the one for you!

Our new friend Cooper is an approximately 8-month old pure bred Coon Hound who is very shy around some new people, particularly men, but is absolutely as sweet as can be once he has had a chance to get to know you.

Cooper is neutered and ready to play with his favorite toys (squeaky toys) at your house if you are a gentle, kind, and patient kind of family.  Cooper is a nice size at about 50 lbs., but once he has been adopted and had a chance to flourish, we expect him to weigh in around 65-75 lbs.,

If your family is quiet, patient and gentle and you love dogs of all kinds, be sure to come by and meet our new friends, Cooper.

Okay...cute as a bug's ear and just as sweet, little Molly is looking for a loving family to call her own for the rest of her many years.

This adorable little girl is about one and a half years old, and she is fully of energy, spunk, and has lots of love to give you and your family.

Molly is a Bischon/Poodle cross, who is soon-to-be-spayed, and who loves to burn around in a safely enclosed area.  Although she is cuddly, your typical 'lap dog' she is not.  This little girl has energy to spare and so is looking for a family who is active, who will provide her with two longs walks everyday and who has a securely fenced yard and time to play with her in it.  After all, a tired dog is always a good dog and Molly is no exception.

If you can provide lots of exercise, quality nutrition, an indoor bed and plenty of cuddle time, be sure to come by and meet our prettiest new addition, Molly.

Roxie has been adopted!  (Intake date: July, 2009)

Meet our newest little snuggle-bunny Roxie.  One of the only Miniature Pinschers we have seen come across our door-step in many years, we don't expect this well-mannered girl to have to be waiting too long for her new family to show up.

Roxie is hoping to find a loving, attentive, and cuddly family to call her own.  One who recognizes that because of her short hair and size, and outdoor dog she's NOT!!! :) She will require proper nutrition to maintain her 'girlish figure' as well as plenty of snuggling and an indoor bed to keep her warm.

Roxie is friendly with everyone and would make a fabulous new addition to a family who loves to dote on their four-legged members.

If this sounds like your family, be sure to come by to meet this gorgeous little MinPin girl.

Yankee LOVES to go on his daily play adventures in a securely fenced area and he may even be a good candidate to try his hand at agility!  Yankee is intelligent and based on his personality and breed traits, he is looking for a new, loving family that is active and attentive with the four-legged members as well as one that is free from small children.

If your family sounds like the one he is looking for, please come on down to meet our new little power-pack, Yankee.

Loca the Sweetie girl is out on adoption trial!  (Intake date: July, 2009)

Husky cross girl at her best!  This young, female Husky cross is blonde and beautiful and is more traditional Husky than not.  What we are referring to is her love of the outdoors and her vocal nature.

She would make a great companion for someone with lots of love and time to give, and who likes to have 'meaningful' conversations with the four-legged members of their family.

Loca is energetic and athletic.  She is well-mannered and keeps all four paws on the ground when meeting you.  She is very intelligent and would be best suited to a human family that will spend time training her as a well-trained (and positively reinforced) dog is a happy dog.  Her human trainer will need to have a gentle way about them as she is quite submissive to humans and we want her to keep her spirits up and be well loved.

If you have lots to offer this girl who herself has lots to offer, come by to meet Loca!~

All of our puppies are now out on adoption trial! (Intake date: November, 2009)

We have ten little babies who are currently almost  weeks old and so in about a week or two they will be ready to start a new life with new, permanent forever homes.

These little sweeties are lab crosses who will likely grow to be between 60 and 90 lbs.  There are five boys and five girls for whom we are currently taking reserves from qualified families.

Puppies are HUGE commitment that is not to be taken lightly.  They are adopted out with spay and neuter contracts only and require quality nutrition, ongoing and steady positive training, and quality medical care.  Puppies physically take approximately six to eight months to  house-train fully, and require a lot of daily exercise and social interaction in safe situations.  It will be up to you to ensure they become well-mannered, well-trained, and well-adjusted, friendly companions.

If your family is ready for the ongoing and approximately 12 - 16 year commitment, then come on by for a visit.

Stryder is a good-natured boy who has a great disposition and is friendly with people of all kinds.  He has, however, suffered a bad encounter with a horse and so should be adopted only to a family in which he will not have to be around horses and also a family who will provide him with plenty of daily exercise, a safely fenced yard and an indoor bed as Coon Hounds do NOT have the type of coat that supports an outdoor lifestyle.

If your family has previous dog experience, and  a soft-spot for sweet dogs with floppy ears and you can provide our special guy Stryder with a permanent loving home like he deserves, then come on by to meet him.
